Hi! We’re Sophie and Andrew Laird, founders of ProShot and Tidal Sports.
As divers, snorkelers, and lifelong adventurers, we started this brand with a simple goal: create gear we trust and want to bring with us on every water adventure.
From underwater smartphone housings to anti-fog snorkel & diving masks, every product we design is meant to help fellow water lovers explore with confidence, capture unforgettable memories, and spend less time worrying about their equipment.
Today, our mission remains the same, build dependable gear that brings people closer to the water while helping protect the oceans and marine life that inspire everything we do.

How We Got Started
ProShotCase, our flagship product
In 2015, when the iPhone 6 and the GoPro action camera were both released, Andrew discovered that the camera specs were very similar, so he questioned why would someone need to purchase both devices just to take photos underwater?
He went to work designing a dedicated underwater housing that could essentially "turn his phone into a GoPro", aka an underwater camera. In 2016, after years of development and rigorous testing, the first ProShotCase was launched. We engineered it to not be a temporary pouch, but a rugged piece of protective gear designed to keep your phone completely dry, functional, and safe in real ocean elements.

Reengineering the Dive Mask for a Better Experience
When we met, we instantly connected over our love for the water. However, Sophie found snorkeling to be frustrating, and sometimes even scary, due to super foggy and leaky masks. It became clear to us that you cannot truly enjoy the water or capture great memories if you're constantly fighting your equipment.
Tired of seeing Sophie struggle with inadequate masks, Andrew set out to build a mask that solved these universal issues once and for all. After testing countless masks claiming to be "anti-fog" with no luck, we explored different anti-fog solutions, eventually landing on hydrophilic films (also used on grocery store refrigerators so you can see the food inside!). We engineered our own anti-fog hydrophilic films that could apply optically clear to our best sealing mask, creating the very first Tidal Mask in 2019.
The Tidal Mask completely transformed the underwater experience for Sophie, and we knew it would change other snorkelers and divers worlds too. Today, with six different Tidal Mask styles (all extensively tested by us), their consistent experience provides that same perfect clarity and leak-free fit to thousands of adventurers worldwide.

Why We Design Our Gear: Purpose-Built Innovation
We do not design products based on temporary trends. We design them by asking a practical question: "What will make it better than what exists, effortless to enjoy, and withstand real ocean elements?" We know that fellow ocean lovers are the best advocates for the ocean, so our gear must help protect what we all love.
